Head Coach - Ed "Woody" Woodson

Ed “Coach Woody” Woodson and his wife Coretta, a native Houstonian, have recently relocated to Texas from Virginia Beach, VA.  They have two sons who both play lacrosse.  Chazz, an MLL all-star, plays attack for the Chicago Machine, and Bryce is a Junior and a midfielder at the Ohio State University. 

 

Coach Woody was introduced to the Creator’s Game in 1972 as a Freshman at Middlebury College, and has been coaching lacrosse since 1986. Having coached in a program headed by Lacrosse Hall of Fame coach Tom Duquette, Coach Woody is privileged to have coached more than 2 dozen young players who went on to become high school and/or college All-Americans and several who have or are playing professionally.  He has coached numerous travel and all-star teams over the years and has coached at the Brown University instructional and recruiting camps for the past 8 years. From 1982 through 2000, he also officiated lacrosse, and he has trained and coordinated referees for Hampton Roads Youth Lacrosse in Southeastern Virginia. He most recently was the Head Coach at Maury High School in Norfolk, VA.

Asst. Coach - Carl Svedin

Carl Svedin, his wife Melanie, and his three children moved to Houston last July from Salt Lake City, Utah.

Carl was introduced to The Game while a junior at Jordan High School in Sandy, Utah. Jordan High did not have a team so Carl played that year for another school which did. His senior year Carl started a team at Jordan High where he played midfielder and long pole middy. This first team consisted of 3 experienced players, and the rest of the team were new recruits. Jordan High has since won 2 boys state championships, and 4 consecutive girls state championships.
 
After graduation Carl played in the men's league in Salt Lake city and became a midfielders' coach at Jordan High. He was most recently the head coach for the Storm team in the Jordan Lacrosse Association.
 

Asst. Coach - Michael Isaacson

Mike Isaacason is a former Cy Fair Ironmen player that has come back to help out with the Eagles this year. Mike played two years for the Ironmen in 2002 and 2003, and was part of the team that made it to the State Championship game in 2003.

In 2005 Mike played for the University of Houston Lacrosse team, and coached the St Francis Middle School team. Mike then transfered to Stephen F. Austin where last year he received All American Honorable Mention.

 

Mike played for Tony's Tavern in the men's league and continued to coach for the Eagles through the 2009 Fall tournament schedule.

 

In January 2010, Mike left to begin basic training with the US Navy.
